I finally put together something bigger than a journal quilt! Here is a little blast of color inspired after reading Kaffe Fassett's book Passionate Patchwork.

This is the other of two recent post card series made form scraps of a quilt I just made.

This is one of two most recent postcards made from scraps of fabric used to test new fabric paints.

Well, I finally did some more work. This is my nephew's graduation quilt. He wanted an art quilt done in his school colors of blue and white. These portraits are in his cap and gown.

April journal quilt

"Out of the Clear Blue Comes God's Hand" Done with synthetic fabrics and a soldering iron.

Journal quilt March 2005. This is my attempt at painted fusible webbing. I painted Steam-a-seam with purple paint, fused it to white, and covered it with red organza. It's embelliahed with beads and fancy yarns. I'm not real happy with my results.

Journal quilt January 2005. This is a mini copy of my large Straight and narrow piece.

Journal quilt February 2005. This is made up of fabric from some of the clothes that have become too big for me.

Journal quilt June 2005. I was experimenting with water color crayons for this orchid.

Journal quilt July 2005. This is July in Houston-Hot. Hot, HOT!

Journal quilt August 2005. I needed to use some of the Japanese fabrics I purchased at The 1985 Quilt Festival.

Journal quilt September 2005. This is my reaction to Katrina. Broken bits of something and hope in the rubble. The beads were supposed to be water, but they ended up being tears.

Another creative portrait. This one is my minister. See if you can make out the elements in her hair.

Here is the batch of postcards I made yesterday. So far 14 in all since I got hooked. These are mostly fussy cut birds from this great bird fabric I found at Hobby Lobby

This was such an interesting piece of fabric it had to be a postcard
